a painting of my sister, her husband, her puppy and her kitten
I tried playing with a new coloring technique, the father away the more desaturation.

Krypto n Ace
the morning routine.
First time I did a cartoon all digital even the concept. I've had this idea of super girl walking Krypto for a year now. Just needed a new style to get me out of the slump of my regular method.
It was a simple idea, and I knew the basic composition that I was going for. I had to resize the heads because I am very insecure with my proportions, even for cartoons.
as you can see heads and legs get corrected
A splash of color gets added
Now the color get blended into the scene
More color gets blended in
And interesting Matted fur design. It's not the best to go ultra real but it helps at least get everything done super quickly with this pattern. Also added blets to the girls. Went with a classic Supergirl design instead of what she wears now in the comics
Ace's body posture was copied then had his body matching with the rest of him. Super simple to do and no seems in there
Actually I had copied super girl's face to keep those color values close by when I needed to go in deeper details.
ALMOST THERE
Added the little details on the costumes, and added the shading to the background
It's a new method, which I needed in order to get this idea off the ground. I'm happy with it, it's different then anything I expected. I might do more in this style again.

Mr Nick
Tom Waits as Mr Nick from Terry Gilliam's the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
now for some work in progress screen caps, simple enough blocky break down so I know where I would go. I'm working from muted muddy tones. So that I can establish the tones before I add colors. It's a way to organize things better.
now some simple colors added. And just blending them into the mudded tones. You can see it better in the BG, The face is pretty much layed out
again, you can see on the face, higher saturated colors are placed on there. Then it's all about blending them into the dull tones
the best thing about painting, is if you make a mistake, you can paint over it. I messed up the alignment of the eyes, nose and lips. Just shifted them up and painted over them
almost done, but now better definition of the background. Backgrounds aren't center of attention, so I wanted to establish shapes and spotlights with heat and warmth.

nick cave
Just finished this new painting as a late birthday gift for my friend Erin.
I haven't worked with my wacom tablet in a while. So I did some tests using painter
as you can see lots and lots of experiments with going from gray tones and then going into colors.
my computer kept crashing, so I kept trying different quick styles before my computer would explode

Only time I'm drawing Mario
I can never understand how to draw Mario, because most of the time I keep recalling instruction manual art and nothing that I draw is up to par with that art. So I'd rather draw Pixel Mario instead.
And Quick friend of my friend Dirk Schulz, better known as Themrock as we both discover the joys of Game For Window Live...... sigh, what a mess
just a quick sketch of Scrooge McDuck if I were to draw him slightly different, and an actual Beagle Boy.
I'm a sucker for Cats playing the blues. A small sketch of how I would draw the cheshire cat
I'm having difficulty trying to draw Anna Paquinn, she's got that chizled look where one off angle and she's a mess. Although I must say Pam is a lot of fun to draw, she's a one note character but GOD she's so much FUN! And Eric this past season has been really fascinating to watch, usually I found him annoying.
Yeah, it's kinda a cheap thing to just draw Jessica from True Blood, but I love all her lines. I thought it'd be funnier to draw her more cartoonie as she says her dorky lines. Oh god, I'm so involved with her relationship with Hoyt that I was doodling some sketches of them back together.
